Warranty
This page sets out what we cover, what we do not, and how a claim works.
What is covered
We cover manufacturing defects — faults present in how the piece was made rather than in how it has been used. For example:
- Cracking, splitting, warping or joint failure in the structural frame under normal domestic use
- Seams, stitching and upholstery construction
- Foam and fibre fill failing prematurely, beyond normal softening
- Zips, fasteners, legs and feet
- Mechanisms on reclining and convertible pieces
- Table bases, brackets and fixings
Transit damage and manufacturing faults are ours to put right. There is no restocking fee on a confirmed fault.
What is not covered
- Normal wear — fabric softening, cushion compression, minor colour change from light exposure
- Accidental damage, spills, stains, burns, pet damage and misuse
- Damage from improper cleaning, or from cleaning products not suited to the material
- Damage caused by moving the item after delivery, or by assembly beyond attaching the supplied legs
- Commercial, rental or outdoor use — this covers domestic indoor use
- Variation in natural materials such as stone; veining and tone differ from piece to piece by nature, and this is not a defect
- Items bought second-hand or from anyone other than Maburg
- Change of mind, which is not a warranty matter and is covered in our refund policy
How a claim works
Nothing may be sent back without our written approval. Every claim begins with photographs.
- Email us with photographs. Send your order number, a description of the problem, and clear photographs of the fault, of the whole piece, and of the packaging where the item has just arrived. We cannot assess a claim without them.
- Our team evaluates. We review the photographs and reply within one business day, sometimes asking for an additional angle or a measurement.
- We confirm the remedy in writing. At our discretion this will be a replacement part, a repair, a replacement item, or a refund.
- If the item needs to come back, we tell you and provide the return address and instructions. In many cases it does not — common replacement parts are held in our US warehouses, so a cover, cushion or set of legs can usually reach you without the whole piece being exchanged, and you keep the original.
Where transit damage is visible on delivery, note it on the carrier's paperwork before the driver leaves, photograph it, and email us within 48 hours. That single step is what makes a freight claim succeed.
Caring for your furniture
A few things materially extend the life of these pieces:
- Rotate and plump loose cushions weekly so they wear evenly
- Vacuum upholstery with a soft brush attachment rather than a beater bar
- Blot spills immediately; do not rub
- Keep pieces out of prolonged direct sunlight, which fades most textiles
- Seal stone tops annually and wipe spills promptly — stone stains from acids such as wine, citrus and coffee
- Lift furniture to move it rather than dragging, which stresses frames and joints
Coverage
This applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable. It is offered in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under applicable consumer protection law.
